Does culture eat strategy for breakfast?
Not necessarily! But having a culture that embraces change can place you on the “high ground”, and facilitate effective strategy execution

Grow and develop
a unique culture

The right corporate culture can enable successful strategy integration, achieve an optimal customer experience and provide the basis for a viable competitive advantage.

Corporate culture is made up of habits and behaviors. These can be compared to natural forces such as wind, sunshine or rain which are ever present in the background, sometimes blatantly obvious and others subtly unnoticeable.

There is no doubt that building organizational alignment poses a great challenge. A culture in alignment with an organisation’s strategy does not happen by chance and requires a great deal of thought, effort and perseverance by top management.

Having a purpose beyond profit

Not every employee wakes up every morning thinking of how to make increase profits for the company he or she works for. In fact, most employees that are non executives (and not shareholders) are rarely motivated by the profit the company can make. Connecting people to a common purpose is fundamental to make them emotionally engaged with your company. “If you are asking yourself why bother?”, there is a high correlation between how your employees feel and the way your customers will feel.

Culture follows change in behavior
Companies can gain a competitive advantage when they focus on changing a few important behaviors, tap into the powerful force of employee emotions and mindset and enlist informal leaders to be champions of change. Behaviors are tangible and measurable, culture will not change automatically. It will follow behavioral change.

At Business Insights we focus on the critical few behaviors that will greatly impact culture, if displayed by a significant number of people. We measure how people are predisposed towards the company and their work, so that we can obtain emotional commitment.

Grasping the cultural transformation is the start for moving from transactional leadership to transformational leadership

Mindsets and Behaviors

When embarking on a journey of change, it is of pivotal importance to have the right mindset to achieve the desired results. This is valid both in our professional and personal life. At work, the right behaviors lead to the desired results in the same way as in your personal life. Think, for instance, about when you want to change your diet;

We use the four levers to change mindsets and behaviours: Skills and competencies, Systems and architecture, Understanding and commitment, and Role modelling. We define where we are, where we want to be, and use these levers to get there.

Change Management

Change may be a choice or simply a necessity imposed by the environment we work in. Either way, change needs to be managed in order to avoid unwanted repercussions that may very well lead a company to failure. Resistance to change is a human trait which also needs to be managed. All elements of change must be addressed and communicated in a systematic manner if acceptance and support is to be gained from all stakeholders; remember, it isn’t only about the people inside the organisation.

Team building and Events

How much effort do you put into building teams that work? Team building doesn’t only happen at the office.

Great team building events that bring your brand values to life. Work hard – play hard.

The value of bonding and team building cannot be overstated. If you don’t have a team, you simply have people doing things and executing tasks in isolation or, worse, in contradiction with one another.

As with everything else in business, great teams don’t just pop into existence. It takes work and dedication. Let’s talk about team building workshops and events, from simple guided training sessions to all out “get out of the office and go crazy” get away events. People are full of great ideas. People have great potential. Don’t stifle it. Give it room to develop
